An excellent opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic Band 6 or 7 Physiotherapist ( depending on experience ) to be part of a systemwide Post Covid Assessment and Rehabilitation Service. The post will be ideal for someone with general neuro experience; Community Experience of patients with respiratory conditions is also desirable but not essential. Experience of Neuro assessment; falls and environmental assessments is essential in the therapists applying for this role in order to meet the needs of this patient group.

Main duties of the job

The role of the Physiotherapist is excitingly varied within this service, providing therapy in various forms - digitally, virtually and face to face. The face to face sessions will be provided in the homes of patients within the Cambridgeshire area, car driving therefore being essential to the role. The Band 6 physiotherapist will be supported and guided by the Band 7 Advanced Physiotherapist practicioner in the Service, There are Band 4 assistants within the team who will support the implementation of therapy interventions set by the Physiotherapist.

About us

The Post COVID Service is a new Service established to meet the emerging needs of patients with Long Covid. The post holder will be part of a small team of clinicians from different organisations delivering and refining the Service. We are a very enthusiastic and passionate team and are looking for someone who is equally passionate and keen to contribute towards supporting, developing and assisting in the running of a Post COVID Assessment and rehabilitation service. Please note that this is a Secondment position until March 2023 so please take advice from your line manager before applying.

  • To undertake advanced holistic, clinical assessments of Post COVID patients often with complex presentation
  • To identify complex cases and present these in the wider Multi Disciplinary Team meeting for collaborative treatment planning
  • Agreeing goal orientated programmes in conjunction with the patient, his/her family and other professionals involved and planning and implementing appropriate intervention
  • To provide support and rehabilitation in your area of expertise via digital and virtual platforms, as well as one to one treatment in patients homes
  • To line manage junior staff within the Service
  • To work closely with the Service Manager on Service review and development projects across both assessment and management sections of the Service


Person Specification Education Essential
  • Professional qualification at degree level and current registration
  • Post registration qualification
  • Evidence of continued professional development and its application
  • Evidence of research appreciation
Desirable
  • Masters degree (or working towards this)
  • Leadership qualification
  • Teaching qualification or equivalent experience
Experience Essential
  • Ability to work autonomously and use initiative
  • Flexible and committed
  • Evidence of strong multidisciplinary and multi agency working, with ability to form positive working relationships with other agencies, charities, and providers
  • Community Neuro experience
Desirable
  • Community experience
  • Advanced communication course
  • Experience of Respiratory conditions in the Community
Skills Essential
  • Able to demonstrate commitment to high quality care and service provision
  • Broad range of clinical skills required for the post
