Band 8a Knowledge and Library Services Manager
Northamptonshire Healthcare (NHFT) and Northampton General Hospital (NGH) are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual for the role of Knowledge and Library Services Manager. This is a great opportunity to work across NHS trusts and shape services for community, mental health, and acute staff, building on the work we already do to ensure clinical practice and management decisions are all informed by the latest evidence, making sure the service supports research, education and continuing professional development for all staff. In this you will be supported by an experienced, knowledgeable, and friendly team of library staff.
Main duties of the job
The Manager will set the strategic direction of the service, leading the team and managing the budget to provide an excellent Knowledge and Library service to NHFT, NGH and the other partners with whom we have Service Level Agreements.
Your responsibilities will include staff management financial management to ensure appropriate provision of staffing and resources strategic service development, and collaboration with local and national organisations to further develop the service.
Working with NHS England you will complete the Library Quality and Improvement Outcomes Framework and monitor and record progress against the Improvement Plan.
About you
Experience of working in a healthcare or academic library environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills which allow you to find, create and use opportunities to promote the service across varied stakeholder organisations, looking to embed library service provision further and to widen both the services offered and the organisations served.
The ability to motivate and lead, with a consultative management style.
