We are currently looking to employ a full time Band 6 Deputy Ward Manager, to support the Ward Manager with clinical and administrative duties on Cherry Orchard Ward, which is a 24 bed unit. The role will include day, nights and weekend working.

The ward has a team of GPs, ANPs, RNs, HCAs together with supporting staff in Social Services, Facilities and Housekeeping.

We encourage our staff in their professional development and support in improving patient care. Our patients care is a priority here Tenbury Community Hospital .

Main duties of the job

  • Your main duties will be to be responsible for the day to day management of the ward, in the absence of the Ward Manager.
  • Manage the admissions and discharge of patients.
  • Evaluate and reassess nursing care according to clinical need.
  • Supervise, support and encourage staff development
  • Facilitate audit for the ward.
  • Assist in managing the ward budget.
  • Participate in recruitment for the ward.
  • Maintain your own personal and professional development
  • Ensure Trust policies, procedures and guidelines are adhered to

  • Registered Nurse (RN1)
  • Degree / Diploma and working towards a first level degree

  • Management & Leadership qualification

  • Independent /supplementary prescriber
