Band 5 Podiatrists
Diabetes Foot Protection Service
Are you a qualified podiatrist looking for an exciting new role?
We are recruiting podiatrists with an interest in Diabetic foot protection at various levels (from bands 5-7). We are looking for clinical staff who are passionate about the care they give to patients and who want to make a real difference in diabetic foot care.
At NELFT, we have secured significant and long-term Transformation funding and are undertaking an ambitious and exciting programme of co-design, with our partners in the Integrated Care Board (ICB), primary care networks (PCN) and secondary care. Our aim is to improve and enhance our service delivery to meet the challenges that face our diabetic population in Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge through integration and collaboration. We want to improve patient outcomes to help our residents reduce the risk of developing active limb-threatening or life-threatening diabetic foot problem.
In return, we can offer you access to dedicated and personalised training and development in your chosen speciality, flexible working with our blended approach to new ways of working, including rotational opportunities and an unmissable chance to be part of something great that will shape the delivery of these services for years to come.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a member of the Diabetes Foot Protection Service (FPS) who has podiatry skills and will be responsible for providing evidence based comprehensive assessment, review and treatment and support the team by delivering this service to the local population at moderate and high-risk.
The post holder will be working within agreed local care pathways, codes of practice and professional standards, and specifically embedding Clinical quality guidelines.
Experienced podiatrists will provide specialist and complex podiatry care for a range of acute and chronic foot pathologies within community settings. The post holder will complement the service by using their first-class assessment, diagnostic and communication skills to develop programmes of care and their clinical expertise to implement treatment plans.
New graduates applying for band 5 roles will be supported and mentored to enable professional development within the diabetic and high risk pathways.
