Childrens Occupational Therapy Clinical Lead
This fantastic opportunity awaits a dynamic, motivated Childrens Specialist Occupational Therapist, looking to further develop their leadership skills, contributing to shaping and developing the future of this high quality service .
In this role, you will be providing clinical leadership to OT colleagues, and support decision making by working collaboratively with OT Colleagues, Team Managers, the Clinical Service Manager and OT / AHP Leadership within the trust,
This is an exciting time of opportunity, as we work with partners in both our Local Authorities and ICBs to shape Cumbria Childrens OT Service, with the voice of the Clinical Lead crucial to these conversations.
This is an honorary post, offering opportunity to existing Band 7s in Childrens Specialist OT services to develop their leadership skills and extend their influence.

The post holder will have the autonomy, legitimacy and authority to make changes within the clinical practices of the team to move the service forward.

Main duties of the job
- Providing clinical input, demonstrating advanced competence in complex decision making, assessment & management of clinical needs of a complex caseload.
- Supporting the development of individuals & the team through appraisal, personal development planning, coaching & mentoring.
- Provide assurance & governance for the service.
- Lead the implementation of clinical protocols/pathways in the service.
- Work with the Professional Lead to implement the AHP strategic plan.
- Supporting the service implement clinical effectiveness programs by taking part in any agreed research/audit projects, leading key aspects as appropriate
- Provide strategic clinical leadership using the most up to date evidence based theory.
- Work alongside the Childrens Specialist Services Leadership team to deliver the aims of the collaborative, providing a voice for Occupational Therapy workforce.
- Offer expert clinical advice for service users, carers, staff & other professionals.
- Make a contribution to training, teaching & supervision of colleagues.
