We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team at St Charles Hospital (part of Central and Northwest London NHS Foundation Trust).

Main duties of the job
Your main role will be working in the dispensary in the provision of a high quality, efficient and patient focused dispensing service to all patients of the Trust.This role will require a good level of communication, organisation, time management and interpersonal skills and preferably some knowledge and experience of mental health services.

Job responsibilities
To act as a senior pharmacy technician in the dispensary. This will include supervising the day-to-day organisation of dispensing activities from the St Charles site, prioritising work, staff management and training.
Key responsibilities:
To have responsibility for line managing some members of staff
Training and supervision of staff when working in the dispensary.
To act as an ACPT (checking pharmacy technician) to provide a final-accuracy check of dispensed prescriptions.
To act as a Practice Supervisor for the HEE pre-registration trainee pharmacy technicians on rotation in the dispensary.
To have a full understanding of e-clozapine coordination in dispensing and scheduled delivery times to the clozapine clinics
To participate in the dispensing of clinical trials in accordance with the departmental SOPs
To identify daily and regular tasks that contribute to the smooth running of the dispensary.
To support and participate in all dispensary activities.
To supervise the stock control in the dispensary by overseeing the daily order process including sundries, returns & expired stock.
To meet, when appropriate, with other Senior Technicians to discuss operational issues and developments with respect to technical services.
To participate in regular technician team meetings.
To participate in audits.
To participate in Saturday, late and Bank Holiday rotas at St Charles hospital.
To maintain an up to date CPD portfolio
To participate in the Trust individual staff development reviews
To participate in regular pharmacy technician team meetings.
STAFF MANAGEMENT:
To have responsibility for line managing some members of staff
To participate in the recruitment and selection of staff
To ensure that dispensary staff respond to the needs of all on-site and off-site services
To liaise as appropriate with the other senior pharmacy technicians to organise the staffing resource.
TRAINING:
To assist in the induction training of all new staff and to help train all dispensary staff (including agency/bank staff) in the routine use of the pharmacy IT system (Ascribe).
To act as a Practice Supervisor for the HEE pre-registration pharmacy technicians on rotation in the dispensary.
To participate in trust or regional study days/training schemes where appropriate.
Collate information for month end KPI reporting (including CD audit reporting) in the absence of the dispensary manager.

- BTEC or NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
- Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with GPhC
