The post holder will work as part of dynamic team supporting the decision-making process at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The role helps the trust link its long-term ambition with concrete day-to-day activities, integrate the strategic vision into established business planning processes, and make tangible progress towards an improved health and care service.

Main duties of the job include:Managing strategic programmes.Generating strategic insights.Building relationships and cooperating with clinical and non-clinical teams.Day-to-day support for Trust projects.

Job responsibilities

The post holder will work with a wide range of clinical and non-clinical stakeholders both in the trust and externally. A great candidate should be able to operate effectively in a flexible, demanding and sometimes uncertain environment.

The team operates a standard Monday to Friday.

Person Specification

Education and qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to masters' level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.


Knowledge

Essential

  • Must have an understanding of the background and aims of current healthcare policy and appreciate the implications to the Trust.
  • Project or change management best practice.


Desirable

  • Prince2 qualified or equivalent project and improvement methodology qualification


Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in the health and care sector.
  • Experience of engagement, event planning and facilitation of discussions with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience of business planning, delivery and support
  • Proven ability to prioritise and organise workload in complex programmes and competing tasks.


Desirable

  • Experience of working for the NHS Trust.
