We are looking to employ an enthusiastic, motivated and compassionate Band 5 Registered Nurse, with a keen interest in achieving new skills. In return you will have the opportunity to work with a supportive, friendly team who are passionate about making staff feel valued and motivated.
This exciting role will offer passionate Band 5 Nurses a platform to develop their skills and knowledge around Immunisations and wellbeing.
Main duties of the job
The vaccination centre at GEH provides Occupational Health, Maternity and Seasonal vaccinations for our staff and the local population.
Part of our service is outreach projects. This Band 5 role is funded by inequalities in Health, to provide health checks for veterans of the armed forces who have been identified as a vulnerable group.Any previous or current connection with the armed forces either through yourself or family would be advantageous.

- Deliver a high standard of nursing care without direct supervision, based upon a sound evidence base.
- Undertake, record and interpret patient observations, escalating any changes in the patient's condition, ensuring action is taken.
- To provide reassurance and support to patients receiving vaccinations, ensuring they are well informed.
- Work within the Policies, Procedures of the Trust in line with N.M.C. Guidance.
- Maintain a good standard of communication with the multi-disciplinary team and respect the confidentiality of patients, relatives and colleagues.
- Check that adequate resources are available to meet the needs of the patients.
- Resolve concerns and complaints from patients, visitors or colleagues where possible and report them to the Lead Nurse.
- Undertakes and documents a comprehensive, systematic and accurate nursing assessment of the physical, social and spiritual needs of the patient where appropriate.
- Use computerised systems to support the provision of patient care and treatment.

- To be based at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust.
- To work in support of the lead nurse undertaking delegated duties as directed. Assisting in the implementation of the vaccination and outreach service.
- To escalate any concerns to lead nurse.
