Senior Pharmacy Education and Training Pharmacy Technician / Production Technician for Aseptic Services

An exciting opportunity has come up for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to work as Senior Pharmacy Education and Training Technician / Production Technician for Aseptic Services within the training department at Bart's Health NHS Trust, Pharmacy Technical Services (PTS).

PTS is a licensed manufacturing unit with three sites, Royal London Hospital which is based at Whitechapel, St. Barts Hospital and Whipps Cross Hospital.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the training and supervision of SMT trainees and rotational staff within the production areas. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all training documentation is current and updated in a timely manner in line with MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency) audits and internal reviews.

Applicants must hold aNVQ BTEC Level 3 in pharmaceutical Science Registered with Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)

or Science Manufacturing Technician (SMT) Level 3 or a relevant Science degree registered with the required Regulatory body.

Although this position is a 12 months fixed-term contract, the actual contract duration will be adjusted to account for the time taken to advertise the post, complete the hiring process, and finalise pre-employment checks. This means the contract will begin when the candidate starts the role and may be slightly shorter than 12 months.

Essential

• BTEC level 3 Diploma in Principles and practice for pharmacy technicians or equivalent.
• Or Science Manufacturing Technician (SMT) Level 3
• Or Biomedical Science or equivalent or a relevant Science degree
• Registered with Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) or relevant Regulatory body
• Institute of Leadership and Management L3 qualification or equivalent experience
• Train the trainer or Practice supervisor
• Pre and in process checking (PIPC).

Desirable

• Product Approval Accreditation Programme (PAAP)
• PTQA Clean room supervisor (APDM Leeds).
• Aseptic Preparation and Dispensing of Medicines (APDM
• Quality Improvement training
• Interview training for Panel member

Experience

Essential

• Vast experience within a GMP / aseptic facility or work as a Pharmacy Technician
• Vast experience in a GMP / aseptic supervisory or training role
• Vast experience of Supervision of staff
• Setting SMART (Specific, Measurable, Agreed, Realistic and Timely) objectives and creating action plans.
• Use of Datix incident reporting system or equivalent.
• Able to plan and priorities own work and the supervision of others in a clear and organised way. Ability to motivate self and others. Methodical attention to detail.
• Demonstrate ability to problem solve and use initiative

• Experience of conducting appraisals or one to one meeting

• Understanding of GPhC Revalidation requirements
