Are you a Registered Nurse (Level 1) or Registered Operating Department Practitioner, would you like to be part of a highly motivated, forward thinking, and hardworking team? If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen within the Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust to join our Vascular Access Specialist Team (VAST).
An opportunity has arisen for a part time band 6 working 19 hours a week in the Vascular Access Specialist Team, (VAST) working out of David Beevers Day Unit.
This exciting role will entail a large degree of autonomy in reviewing and accepting referrals, liaising with senior clinicians and discussions with all Clinical Service Units throughout the trust in all aspects of line care. The successful candidate would be required to embrace the key values of the Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust, known as The Leeds Way - Patient centred, Fair, Collaborative, Accountable and Empowered.
Main duties of the job
There is likely to be an element of discussions with patients and organising admissions to hospital. Prior knowledge and experience of inserting vascular access devices is desirable although there will be support and training provided within the team. Ideally, we are seeking someone who can be adaptable and dynamic to flex between management of the theatre lists, guidance for teams and assisting/ inserting vascular access devices independently. The team functions across the whole trust, providing support to all CSUs and is looking to expand its workforce to match this huge demand. Being a relatively small team, working over such a large demand there will be opportunity to enhance the role and improve the service with regular meetings with clinicians to voice suggestions.
About us
Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is one of the largest acute health providers in the UK and based in one of the fastest growing and vibrant cities in the north.
For all new starters to the Trust will attend both a corporate induction and a local Theatres and Anaesthetics Induction Programme. We also have a 6-month Preceptorship framework to support you in your new role, which incorporates further education sessions and support forums and clinical supervision.
Leeds Teaching Hospitals is committed to our process of redeploying 'at risk' members of our existing workforce to new roles. As such, all our job adverts are subject to this policy and we reserve the right to close, delay or remove adverts while this process is completed.
