A position for a Band 6 Renal Dietitian has become available. Working alongside a Band 7 Lead Renal Dietitian, you will have a clinical remit to Home Haemodialysis patients, Inpatients on the Transplant Wards for both kidney and kidney / pancreas and OP Clinics. The Dietetic Renal service has a remit to Haemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis and EPS services, so knowledge and/or experience of these areas is advantageous.

This is an onsite, clinical post at Cambridge University Hospitals (CUH). The Cambridge Dialysis centre is off site from the main hospital, so the ability to travel to this Unit is required.

We would consider (application numbers dependent and whether we can successfully recruit suitably qualified Dietitians at Band 6 level) exploring this position as a progression post for a suitably qualified Band 5 looking to develop towards a Band 6 within Renal Dietetics. Please consider applying if you have experience at Band 5 level and would like to be considered, should this opportunity arise. However, this does not guarantee you will be shortlisted to interview in the event of large application numbers at Band 6.

The Department has a thriving and well regarded Research Group and has supported staff with post graduate qualifications, offering guidance and support in research skills development to junior staff or those new to research.

Main duties of the job

Work as a member of the Dietetic Nephrology Services team to facilitate and provide a dietetic service to Addenbrooke's Hospital and other external Units as appropriate with particular responsibility for the Haemodialysis Unit (shared with Band 7), Home Haemodialysis, Renal Transplant Services and potential to provide input to the EPS Service.

Participate in relevant research projects as well as working closely with other medical surgical teams and health professionals. Be an active member of the Renal Specialist Group within the department.

To work in conjunction with the Specialist Renal Band 7 Dietitian within a multi professional framework and contribute to a first class service through evidence based clinical practice, management, education, research and audit.

To set and work toward individual and team objectives that reflect corporate plans and work within the clinical governance framework.
