I am inviting applications for an experienced pharmacy technician to join the Clinical Informatics Team. This is for a full time 8a pharmacy technician on a permanent basis. The post holder will be based at the Royal London Hospital, with responsibility for the Trust wide optimisation of clinical systems.

Main duties of the job
The postholder will assist the Lead Pharmacist, Informatics with the development and optimisation of electronic prescribing within the Trust, in conjunction with the Head of IT Projects and the EPR team. They will assist with the implementation of any new digital medicines' initiatives and support the pharmacy team in developing, validating and maintaining the wider pharmacy digital systems operated by the department.
They will ensure patient safety, security of access, system availability and that data accuracy is delivered by the system(s) and meets the requirements of the Trust, its patients and clinical staff.

- Significant experience post registration in a hospital based post
- Previous significant experience of working with clinical IT systems, including ePMA
- Experience of working with clinicians and a proven track record for influencing change

- Demonstrates an ability to plan, prioritise and organise own workload, to work under pressure and act with autonomy whilst retaining a sense of own capabilities and escalate when necessary

Knowledge

- Knowledge of regulations and legislation relevant to EPMA
- In depth knowledge of medicines administration processes and medicines management
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of safe pharmacy practice including Medicines legislation and professional code of ethics
- Up to date knowledge of legislation relevant to pharmacy practice, e.g. controlled drugs, Health and Safety at Work
- Understands the importance of adherence to SOPs and legislation
- Demonstrates a good understanding of patient safety initiatives
- Ability to provide complex information and guidance on medicines use, clinical pharmacy and financial issues clearly and concisely
Qualifications

- BTEC level 3 Diploma in Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians or equivalent
- Registered as a Pharmacy Technicianwith the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Mandatory CPD to maintain fitness to practice.
- ILM L4 - leadership and management
- Degree level qualification or relevant experience

- Specialist training in clinical informatics
