An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Tissue Viability Support Nurse to cover maternity leave.
We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic about the field of Tissue Viability, wanting to improve their knowledge and make a difference for patients in the community and the Tissue Viability Nurse Team.
This is a part time post working 22.5 hours a week
Please note the successful person will be be required to travel around the geographical area without the use of public transport.
Main duties of the job
To provide and be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised programmes of care.
To deliver care without supervision.
To participate in the in-service training, preceptorship and mentorship of junior, post basic learners and students
To provide support to staff responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of TV care.
To identify a daily workload in the absence of the CNS
To provide TV support to staff taking responsibility as prime care provider for a group of patients
To promote confidence in our commitment to provide excellent compassionate patient care.
To maintain personal development.

- Previous Tissue Viability experience. Awareness of speciality. Worked as a TV Link Nurse
- IT skills to include use of work, excel spreadsheets, email, internet access
- The post holder will demonstrate a history of interest in tissue viability
Knowledge and Abilities
Essential
- The ability to work without direct supervision, yet as part of a team
- Current knowledge of developments in nursing and healthcare in general
- The ability to provide skilled, evidence based nursing care to a wide range of patients
- The ability to manage the caseload in the absence of a senior nurse, on a temporary basis
- Ability to deal with patients and carers who are under stress
