An exciting opportunity is now available to support in the delivery of the Pre-Assessment service for the new Central Hampshire Elective Orthopaedic Hub, located on the Royal Hampshire County Hospital site in Winchester. The Hub is an exciting new venture supporting the delivery of elective orthopaedic care for patients across the region and is a partnership venture between Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.
The primary function if the role is to deliverhigh quality, effective and compassionate health care to patients undergoing elective surgery. Whilst the role will predominately support patients undergoing elective orthopaedic surgery within the hub, there will be a rotational element with the wider HHFT pre-assessment service. Staff will be expected to work collaborativelyin order to provide a high standard of care for our patients.
This role will enable the development of clinical practice, knowledge and skills whilst undertaking independent comprehensive assessments of patients undergoing elective surgery. Pre assessment is considered to be a pivotal part of the patient's pathway ensuring the patients are in their optimal health for their procedures.
Main duties of the job

The role is a primary function supporting the team for the optimal care of our patients. The delivery of high quality, effective and compassionate health care to the patients of the Central Hampshire Elective Orthopaedic Hub is the most important objective for the organisation. Pre assessment is considered to be a pivotal part of the patient's pathway ensuring the patients are in their optimal health for their procedures. Excellent team working and communication skills are essential for this role along with a need to establish and maintain good working relationships within the multidisciplinary team and wider services to work collaboratively and co-operatively to enhance quality of care.
