An exciting opportunity has arisen for Experienced Registered Nurses to join our Stroke team at Aintree University Hospital.

Transforming stroke care is a priority within the NHS Long Term Plan. The plan presents strong evidence that a centralised Emergency Assessment Centre helps us to deliver the best possible patient outcomes. With this in mind it is an exciting time for stroke services in the North Mersey region

The merger of services will present a number of development opportunities for staff who are passionate about the care of stroke patients to further their careers in managerial, clinical roles or advanced clinical roles.

There will be an opportunity to rotate and work across the Stroke Assessment centre, HASU and Stroke unit at Aintree.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work without direct supervision and will take charge of the ward/ department in the absence of the ward/ department manager, who holds continuing responsibility.

Key responsibilities will include the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, effective leadership and staff management/development. The post holder will always work within the NMC's Code of Professional Conduct.
