The Cardiac Ward and Coronary Care Unit at Peterborough City Hospital join together to create a dynamic and effective care environment for a broad range of Cardiac patients.

Main duties of the job
To take responsibility for the organisation and day to day management of a group of patients and in time a team of nurses on the cardiac ward and CCU.
To effectively lead and be responsible for the ward team and clinical care carried out in a designated area in the absence of and in conjunction with the ward managers and deputy sisters/charge nurses.
To work in close liaison with the ward manager, Deputy sister/charge nurse, Matrons, Practice Development Team (PDT) and the Multidisciplinary Team to provide the highest quality of assessment and evaluated care required to support each patient in their care pathway improving the patient experience. Maintaining clinical credibility within the Cardiology Department and disseminate knowledge.
