An excellent opportunity has arisen in the Care Group for a Patient Pathway Supervisor in Paediatrics.

This is a permanent position, 37.5 full-time hours working across both Stoke Mandeville and Wycombe Hospital.

The post holder will have responsibility for supporting patients through their clinical pathway to ensure prompt treatment, no unnecessary delay and confusion, and to enable a positive and reassuring care experience.

The postholder will ensure that every effort is taken to the improve quality of communication, and work proactively to improve access to information and response to enquiries for all patients who use the service.

Main duties of the job

The role requires close liaison with other managers and medical staff, and line management for the team of secretaries.

Person Specification

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

Essential

  • General education to 'A' level or equivalent
  • Knowledge of full range of administrative and organisational policies and procedures acquired through training or equivalent experience


Desirable

  • Referral to treatment training


EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • At least 1 year's NHS experience
  • Experience of managing 18 week patient pathway
  • Proven experience at supervisory level


SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications
  • Excellent IT skills: Outlook, Word, Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets)
  • Committed to self-development

  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Able to remain calm in a crisis and deal with sometimes distressing situations from both patients and staff.
