Main duties of the job

The Radiology Department has 9 general DR rooms, with 3 in a busy and exciting ED unit. We also support a varied and busy theatre program (27 theatres), screening for urology, general, orthopaedic, spinal, pain and paediatric lists, undertaking many varied procedures.

A new paediatric Theatre complex opened in January 2024, and the Norfolk and Norwich Orthopaedic Centre (NANOC) opened in July 2024. Recruitment into this post will enable us to support further screening lists in theatres. In addition to these exciting developments, the Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) is under construction, currently planned to open in early 2025, to provide a significant growth in capacity for General Radiography, MRI, CT and Ultrasound. Not only will the CDC increase our capacity, but it will open up further training opportunities.

We also undertake dental imaging, support the Fluoroscopy Department and have a team of Reporting Radiographers (musculoskeletal, chest and abdomen), as well as a team of DXA Radiographers and Advanced Practitioners.

Cromer Hospital also forms part of the Trust and is situated on the beautiful North Norfolk coast. The Cromer Radiology department has a further 2 DR rooms supporting a busy MIU, GP's and clinics together with a procedure room with its own image intensifier, for Pain lists.
