We are recruiting for a Matron-Emergency Department who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
The Matron post is to act as a role model and professional support to Nurses / practitioners at all levels. A role of the Matron is to improve the patient experience by ensuring high standards of care, and by making the hospital a more comfortable and cleaner place.
The post holder has day to day professional and managerial responsibility for the wards/departments within Urgent and Emergency Care (UEC), supporting and providing assurance to the UEC Leadership Team and the Divisional Management Team on the delivery of safe, high quality and cost-effective care, whilst also maintaining compliance with emergency professional standards.
The post holder will provide expert professional leadership, informed, objective and pragmatic nursing advice to the ward team and the Divisional senior team, ensuring there are robust systems and monitoring in place to support all matters relating to patient care and experience.

Main duties of the job
Provide professional leadership and a management approach that contributes to creating a climate for achieving excellence in nursing practice, skills and competencies using the values of the 6Cs.
Exemplify a style that enables individual clinical leaders to develop transformational leadership empowering teams to involve users in promoting continuous improvement.
Working with others responsible for contributing to the review, development, implementation and evaluation of the Trusts approach to patient safety, protecting vulnerable adults and children, and continual improvement of services.
Provide professional advice to the Division and other key stakeholders as required taking responsibility for any actions attributed to time.
Support the Divisional Directors and their teams by providing nursing advice and leadership expertise to improve integration and adoption of developed systems for patient experience measures and other nursing quality indicators.
