CNWL is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Early Intervention Service (EIS) and the Kilburn Locality Community Mental Health Team The Kilburn post is a replacement post due to retirement of the part time consultant while the EIS post is a long term part time vacancy.
The post holder will have consultant and RC responsibility for a defined caseload of service users under the care of the Kilburn Locality Community Mental Health Team and a reduced caseload in EIS. The post holder will also provide mentoring and supervision as an experienced Consultant

Main duties of the job
1. To manage, appraise and provide professional supervision to medical staff as agreed between consultant colleagues and the medical director and in accordance with the Trust's policies and procedures.2. To ensure that medical staff working with the post holder, operate within the parameters of the New Deal and are Working Time Directive compliant.3. To undertake administrative duties associated with the care of patients.4. To record clinical activity accurately and comprehensively, and submit this promptly through the trusts clinical information systems.5. To participate in service/business planning for the locality and, as appropriate, for the whole mental health service.6. To participate in annual appraisal for consultants.7. To attend and participate in the academic program of the Trust as part of the internal CPD program.8. To participate annually, as a minimum, in a job plan review with the clinical manager, which will include consultation with a relevant manager in order to ensure that the post is developed to take into account changes in service configuration and delivery associated with modernization.9. To work with local managers and professional colleagues in ensuring the efficient running of services.10. To comply with the Trust's agreed policies, procedures and standing orders, and to take an active role in the financial management of the service and support the medical director and other managers in planning for services.

Principle Clinical duties of the Kilburn post holder:
Assessment of new patients and clinical supervision of assessments carried out by other team members. Full participation in the multidisciplinary team providing care in the Senior medical responsibility for the care carried out by the Community Mental Health Team. Review and monitoring of the caseload to ensure appropriate care packages are put in place and discharges facilitated to maintain patient flow. Contribution to the continuous development of the Community Mental Health Team, and to other parts of the Service as required. Domiciliary visits to provide assessment and treatment services as a member of the CMHT Domiciliary assessments in response to emergencies Research, in terms of personal projects and clinical audits as part of clinical Involvement in joint planning of future service Occasional psychiatric assessments of residents who may be in crisis in another Close liaison with the wards to facilitate admission and discharge Liaison with HTT, Psychiatric Liaison Services, AMHP services and Forensic Services in the borough.
Principal Clinical duties of the EIS post holder
To be responsible for carrying out detailed psychiatric assessments and risk assessments and to contribute to planning and implementing service users care plans. To carry out the above in a variety of settings, including home visits, and other non-stigmatising settings. To work flexibly to ensure that clients and their carers are able to access the service effectively To review clients within the community as well as those who require a hospital admission for medical assessments and evaluation including physical and mental state examinations. To be an active member of the multi-disciplinary team. To take turns in chairing the daily MDT with the Team Leaders and maintain adherence to the Zoning protocol. To involve the user and carers in the treatment, management and care planning of a users mental health and physical care. To liaise effectively with appropriate agencies, statutory and non-statutory, other mental healthcare providers, GPs and families and carers, as appropriate, regarding clients. To ensure that clinical records are kept up to date, accurate, signed and legible. To ensure that all aspects relating to discharging clients are appropriately dealt with, and all clients are diagnosed with ICD11 code. To input data into the patient information system and MiData audit tool and any other tool used in the service. Training and support will be provided for these activities. To take an active role in contributing to management meetings and the ongoing development of the service and participate in relevant Audit and QI activity. To participate in Continuing Professional Development. To participate in annual appraisal in line with Trust policy.
