We are looking for a specialist Speech and language therapist to work with autistic children and young people within resource provisions with a day working in the diagnostic clinic. You will also be supporting EHCP reviews for CYP with a range of diagnosis.

Main duties of the job

Speech and Language Therapists are core to the efficient service delivery that we provide to children, young people and their families.

As a Speech and Language Therapist in our service, you will deliver care to children, young people and their families in the community, schools and within the clinic setting at Wood Street health Centre.

You will be working within our well-established, supportive and dynamic diagnostic and schools team. In your allocated schools you will provide assessments including EHCP's as well delivering intervention and training to upskill school staff.

We offer excellent support, regular supervision and many CPD opportunities, for example in the diagnostic clinic. We are also focused on upskilling the team and our partners in neurodivergence, the post holder will be central to this. This post will also develop your supervision skills.

About us

Starting with NELFT NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Probationary Period This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High-CostArea Supplement This post also attracts payment for High-Cost Area Supplement of 15% of basic salary, with a minimum of £4,551 and maximum of £5,735, pro rata for part time staff

  • Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree Qualification or equivalent
  • HCPC Licence to Practice

Essential

  • Experience of working in a multi- agency and/or multi-disciplinary team
  • Significant relevant experience at undergraduate/post graduate level


AC as per person spec

Essential

  • Clinical knowledge of child development and its application to speech and language therapy
  • Knowledge of assessment tools, treatment techniques and therapeutic interventions
