Hywel Dda University Health Board has an exciting opportunity for motivated, enthusiastic and ambitious nurse to join our dedicated neonatal unit.

This is a full time/part time post.

We are committed to the provision of high quality evidence based practice to meet the needs of parents and babies incorporating family centred care.Neonatal services in Hywel Dda University Health Board provides 1 stabilisation cot, 4 high dependency cots and 8 special care cots, with a transitional care service in development.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking an enthusiastic nurse with a RSCN/Child Branch qualification. A neonatal qualification is desirable but not essential. You will need a caring attitude with good oral and written communication skills, computer skills are also desirable. Good time management and decision making skills are required.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Person Specification

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential

  • Current NMC registration RN part 1, 8 or 15 of the register
  • Understanding of professional and current issues in neonatal nursing


Desirable

  • Neonatal Qualification or relevant experience NLS
  • Mentorship qualification


Experience

Essential

  • Experience of having worked with either neonates or acutely/chronically ill children
  • Evidence of statutory and mandatory training


Desirable

  • Post registration neonatal/paediatric experience
  • Experience of supervising and assessing students and junior staff


Language Skills

Desirable

  • Welsh Speaker (Level 1)
