THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 6 MONTHS TO COVER MATERNITY LEAVE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part -time (24 hours per week) fixed term secondment post (until 24/05/2025) covering maternity leave as a Macmillan Dermatology Skin Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist, working alongside the Macmillan Skin Cancer Assistant Practitioner (band 4) based within the Integrated Health Community.
The post holder will work as part of a designated Macmillan Dermatology Team, delivering evidence based high quality clinical care that focuses on the direct needs of the patient. The post holder will work with Dermatology and Oncology clinical teams to improve the clinical pathway to ensure Person Centred Care for the people of North Wales. The teams will identify patient needs through a holistic needs assessment, and co-creating a Care and Support Plan for people living with skin cancer. This ensures all patients are treated as individuals and partners in their own care. The role will also involve working collaboratively with other clinical teams in tertiary centres, community, and primary care services to improve the experience and outcomes for people living with skin cancer across North Wales.
Main duties of the job
The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) will demonstrate practice in both direct patient care and have the ability to support and develop services. Through the key skills of leadership, innovation and clinical expertise the CNS will facilitate and deliver patient centred care, which is efficient and effective.
The CNS is a core member within the multidisciplinary care team (MDT) and will work collaboratively with clinicians and service managers to promote, develop, review and redesign services which are responsive and relevant to patient's needs in line with national and local objectives. The CNS is an autonomous practitioner and has the freedom to act to influence patient care and service provision.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
