The maternity service at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is evolving. Currently responsible for the care of approximately 2300 births each year, the service offers choice of care pathway, lead professional and place of birth to women primarily living in the Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket, Thetford, Sudbury, Haverhill and surrounding areas. Current changes and improvements are being made to the midwifery service and with significant investment and support from the Trust Board. We are looking for an passionate labour suite coordinator/bleep holder.
We are proud to be able to offer the opportunity for an outstanding midwife to join our experienced and passionate team of coordinators. There are full/part time hours available on a Fixed Term/Secondment basis.
This is an exciting post that will significantly contribute and shape our future services and staff. We are looking for self-motivated, committed midwives that respond well to change and have experience of working in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating effective leadership and support skills for staff at all levels.
If you are a highly skilled in all aspects of intrapartum care and are determined to lead by example whilst modelling an approach that is compassionate and approachable, we would love to hear from you.
Interviews will be held on 4th April 2024
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate should have a special interest in promoting safe, evidence-based care and be determined to strive for this.
The role will be to provide clinical expertise and will require the postholder to have excellent clinical, communication and interpersonal skills. As a coordinator you will be supporting junior staff in their development and will involve liaising with and escalating to with the wider MDT and senior management teams.

STAFF CAR PARKING
Staff Car Parking on the West Suffolk Hospital Site is eligible for individuals working outside of the core hours, 07:00 18:30.
For individuals working within the core hours, the Trust offers parking off site at the Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club, which is serviced by a regular shuttle bus to and from the Hospital. Details of the bus timetable can be found in the on-line starter pack on the West Suffolk Hospital website.
This parking restriction does not apply if an individual is required to work on a weekend or if they are required to complete on call duties within their role.
