We would love to hear from psychologists interested in joining our thriving and supportive Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIIP) Service. We are looking for a full time Psychologist, but we are open to considering part-time working patterns, and we fully support flexible working.
This would be an excellent role for current trainee psychologists due to complete their training in September / October or current band 7's looking to move into EIIP.
We are a passionate and supportive team that has been consistently rated 'Top Performing' in the National Clinical Audit of Psychosis (NCAP). We have also, within our Trust, won Team of the year Gold CARE awards on two occasions, and have been CARE Excellence accredited. Because of the international recognition of the effectiveness of early intervention, EIIP teams are prioritised at a national level and valued within our Trust, making the team a vibrant place to work.
The post is based in our West Surrey & North East Hants EIIP Team Chertsey, KT16 9FG, you would be seeing clients largely from the North West Surrey area (i.e. Staines, Chertsey, Woking), although there will be flexibility across the patch.
Main duties of the job
As a psychologist the work is fascinating and varied in treating a person's distress regarding psychotic experiences, in helping clients make sense of their experiences and in treating associated difficulties of anxiety, depression and trauma.
In line with NICE guidance, our main model is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for psychosis (CBTp), but the complexity of presenting difficulties means that we draw on a number of models in our work. We are looking for a psychologist who has a keen interest in working with this client group and their families, and in the EIIP model.
You will provide assessment, formulation and psychological therapy to clients further training and qualifications in CBT for psychosis would be desirable. You will also have the opportunity to provide family interventions, as well as run groups e.g. ACT for psychosis, develop skills in team formulation, and supervision if desired. You will provide consultation to your MDT colleagues and promote a psychological perspective within the team.
To collaborate closely with MDT colleagues in providing a biopsychosocial treatment programme for clients with first episode psychosis.
To provide a psychological perspective within the team and provide consultation to MDT colleagues. To attend the regular MDT meetings (on Monday and Wednesday mornings) and contribute a psychological perspective to discussions.
