Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Fire Safety Advisor to join the Health, Safety, Fire & Security Team. The role will be working across all sites of DHCFT within Derbyshire. The post holder will support the Head of Health & Safety, Fire and Security in relation to fire safety issues with specific reference to the NHS Firecode standards and the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
The successful candidate will provide professional advice on all fire safety / prevention matters relating to staff, patients and premises. To undertake Specialist Fire Safety Risk Assessments, fire evacuation procedures and to provide specialist advice to the Trust Fire Safety Manager. The post holder will also develop and deliver fire safety training in line with the training needs analysis for the Trust, this will include face to face, e-learning and fire evacuation training to ensure compliance with all relevant Fire Safety legislation and guidance, in particular the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and related Department of Health, Health Technical Memorandums (Firecode). The above will apply to all Trust sites including areas that work in other Trusts buildings.

Essential
- Educated to degree level or able to demonstrate equivalent level of fire safety management competency
- Professional qualification in discipline related to fire engineering or safety
- Experience of further academic/personal development
- Proven knowledge of the fire risk assessment process
Desirable
- Member of the Institute of Fire Engineers or Institute of Fire Prevention Officers
- Member of the National Association of Healthcare Fire Officers
- Qualified training instructor
- Holder of NEBOSH (Gen Cert) or CFPA Diploma in Fire Prevention
