This is a fantastic opportunity to gain senior leadership experience with a financially challenged but friendly acute Trust in west London.
Working to the deputy CFO this is an opportunity to gain valuable experience as a finance leader within the Trust and of the financial management function.
You will be responsible for delivering and developing the financial planning, reporting and business partnering offer to the organisation and will be a key figure in the Trust achieving long term sustainability.
It is an exciting time to join the Trust as it is also part of the new hospitals programme, and we are at the outline business case stage for a new hospital on the Hillingdon site.
The finance function is based at Mount Vernon hospital and the post holder will be expected to work at both Mount Vernon and Hillingdon hospitals, as well as remote working from home.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for providing business advice and analysis to the divisions and other support functions within the Trust consistent with the delivery of the Trust objectives and the agreed financial recovery trajectory. To work seamlessly with the transformation and PMO teams to provide financial support to development and transformation initiatives.
To work with the Deputy CFO, the Head of Financial Services, the Head of Income, Costing and Contracts and other business support function leaders to deliver a performance management, review framework that is action oriented and supports all clinical and non clinical services in the Trust whilst the organisation is in financial recovery and for business as usual operations.
Responsible for the provision of monthly management accounts to Budget Holders, Budget Managers and the Trust Board, and ensuring that they represent a true and fair view of the organisation's financial position.
To be responsible for setting objectives for the financial management team that are consistent with and support the achievement of finance team and Trust objectives.

- Professional Accountancy Qualification - CCAB Qualified
- Significant post-qualification experience in financial management
- Continued Professional Development giving specialist knowledge of financial management.
- Extensive post-qualification experience in: o Professional Accounting Standards o NHS financial regulations and procedures o Staff management
- Post-qualification experience at a senior level in financial management.
- Experience of supporting a financially challenged organisation in recovery
- Experience of working directly with senior and executive clinical and non clinical colleagues
- Experience of computerised budgetary control and ledger systems.
- Expert user of MS Office.
- Extensive analytical and interpretive skills, able to design, develop and implement systems to meet information requirements.
