Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust and Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust have a shared instance of Oracle Health Millennium Electronic Patient Record (EPR). Oracle Health is a market leading EPR and is revolutionising the way in which staff work by using technology to improve quality & patient safety, that will in turn help to provide the future of 'excellence in patient care' at both Trusts. This implementation programme is the first of its kind whereby two independent Trusts have worked together to develop and implement a single electronic software solution.

The jobholder will be responsible for leading and developing an Electronic Patient Record service delivery centre, including elements of operational management, performance monitoring and service improvement and development.

The jobholder will work with both Trusts' Directors of Informatics, their Chief Clinical and Nursing Informatics Officers and operational EPR leads to set the EPR roadmap and to deliver high quality, efficient services through delivery of:

Leadership to the Electronic patient records service delivery portfolio

Execution, with other the Informatics and operational leaders, of the EPR roadmap

Managing the service's finances

Workforce planning to ensure that the right people with the right skills are in place.

Rigorous performance and quality monitoring to deliver all the required best practice informatics operational standards.

About us

We employ more than 6,500 staffwho deliver compassionate care from our two main hospitals,Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary as well as in community sites, healthcentres and in patients' homes. We also are incredibly proud to have almost 150 volunteers here at CHFT.

We provide a range of services including urgent and emergency care medical surgical maternity gynaecology critical care children's and young people's services end of life care and outpatient and diagnostic imaging services.

We provide community health services, including sexual health services in Calderdale from Calderdale Royal and local health centres. These include Todmorden Health Centre and Broad Street Plaza.

Job responsibilities

The postholder will be responsible for the leadership and management of the EPR team and establishing relationships with all three trusts to deliver the EPR service. They will be responsible for the management of budgets and chairing the EPR governance process. They will also be responsible for providing high quality, timely and proactive development of EPR within service constraints to keep up with the ambition of all organisations.

QUALIFICATIONS / TRAINING

Essential

  • Educated to post graduate diploma level or equivalent experience or training in specific specialist areas
  • Additional specialist knowledge or training to master's level or equivalent experience

  • Management qualification


KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE

Essential

  • Previous experience of working in the NHS,in a complex environment
  • Experience in supervising or managing staff
  • Experience in delivery an IT or EPR service
  • Experience in annual planning and business planning processes
  • Demonstrable experience of managing change
  • Project management experience& programme
  • Experience in performance management and business development
  • Experience in requirements analysis, formal options assessment, and feasibility analysis
  • Experience in designing, building, testing and deploying Information Systems within large highly-complex organisations
  • Financial and budget management experience
  • Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of application of relevant National Guidance e.g. National Service Frameworks, NICE etc
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the Trusts' objectives and priorities and the ability to work across organisational and operational boundaries
  • Advanced knowledge of the IT systems, tools or products that can be used to enable clinical work
  • Recruitment and Selection, Appraisal and other HR/People Management related training
  • Understanding of equality and diversity issues and how this affects patients, visitors and staff
  • Understanding of what the NHS Constitution means to you, and your responsibilities to the public, patients and colleagues.
