The Children's Integrated Speech and Language Therapy Service for Hackney and the City is a unique partnership between health and education. The resultant service works across Homerton University Hospital Foundation Trust and Hackney Education and has grown into a large and dynamic team that delivers innovative models of working.
We are proud to be commissioned by health, education and schools in Hackney and out of borough as well Youth Justice and Virtual Schools for Looked After Children. We have a strong relationship with schools and alternative providers and are growing in traded services.
Interview date expected 28th November 2024
Main duties of the job
The well regarded Hackney Speech and Language Therapy service operates a comprehensive service within the borough's primary and secondary schools, alternative provisions and FE colleges. Over a number of years we have established robust systems and practices. As a result the service we deliver is highly regarded by families and schools.
This is an exciting opportunity to take on the role of leading on provision for Primary Schools within one of the four Neighbourhoods, working closely with a team of other senior staff supporting the service within schools
You will have a thorough knowledge of a wide range of clinical conditions (and how they might present and overlap in the primary and wider school age range), and an understanding of how to support a range of partners and MDTs to provide thoughtfully sequenced, functional and holistic support to a cohort whose circumstances can be complex and change quickly.
Being able to successfully support a team of therapists, and a group of diverse schools is essential and outstanding interpersonal skills and problem solving capacity are required.
You will be well supported via robust clinical supervision and have access to excellent CPD opportunities.
We embrace flexible working and will consider applicants who wish to work part-time.
