This is an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Lead Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist to use theirspecialist knowledge and skills to develop and lead a new and innovative Speech and Language therapy team in North East Essex. You will work alongside and provide leadership to our band 5 and band 6 Speech and Language Therapists.

You will haveclinical expertise with the communication difficulties experienced by older people and in dysphagia (eating, drinking and swallowing disorder). You will have your own community caseload and provide specialist advice to our older adults' wards.

The successful applicant will have a passion for promoting the dignity and quality of life of older people, be wellorganised, and have a good understanding of cognitive impairment and dementia. You will work closely with other Allied Health Professionals and with our multi-disciplinary Memory Service and Community Teams. You will be well supported with regular supervision, as well as having opportunities for peer supervision.

Main duties of the job

o Contribute professional expertise to current service provision and future service developments.

o Undertake highly specialist clinical work

o Provide Speech and Language Therapy advice to other disciplines, providing training, supervision and support as required.

o Carry out professional leadership responsibilities as delegated by the Head of Older Persons Community Therapy (Mental Health).

o Undertake research and other tasks that contribute to the implementation of the Trust Strategy for Allied Health Professions.
