Paediatric Staff Nurse, Band 5, Cumberland Infirmary, 36 hours per week.
Based at the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle, we are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Band 5 Registered Nurse (Child) to work on the Children's Ward, 36 hours on a permanent contract. Children's Ward is a 24 bed general paediatric unit that also covers surgical specialities such as ENT and Orthopaedics. You will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate high standards of nursing care to children, young people and their families. You will also contribute as requested by the Ward Manager to the operational and strategic management of the unit, actively participating in the development and implementation of quality initiatives. The Trust will provide a twelve month preceptorship period for all newly registered healthcare professionals.
Main duties of the job
You will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate high standards of nursing care to children, young people and their families. You will also contribute as requested by the Ward Manager to the operational and strategic management of the unit, actively participating in the development and implementation of quality initiatives.
The unit promotes a philosophy of family centred care and provides a 24 hour comprehensive nursing care service to the paediatric population of North Cumbria, with high regard for the child and families individual needs and with acknowledgement and implementation of the Department of Health Recommendations.

Healthcare Professionals returning to practice, moving into new roles or changing clinical environments, may access an agreed preceptorship period.
