We are looking for a driven Events Fundraising Manager who is passionate about health charities, the NHS and the role the charity plays in supporting the needs of local patients.

As a key member of the Charity Team, the Events Fundraising Manager must have the creativity, skill and knowledge to deliver the best charity events fundraising programme that supports the wider strategy.

You will sit within the Charity team and provides an important link between the Charity and the local community, volunteers, fundraisers and hospital staff.

You will work closely with colleagues to deliver an effective and engaging events calendar that is both exciting and profitable.

You will ensure effective working with our PR and communications colleagues to ensure we run a high profile events programme and generate income and awareness of the charity.

PLEASE NOTE: Essential - This role does require candidate to have driving licence & access to vehicle.

Main duties of the job

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and deliver a robust charity events fundraising events calendar
  • Deliver the required ROI for the events programme and promote the work of the charity through these events via public relations, digital communications, linking with media relations in alignment with marketing colleagues
  • Write, edit, proof read, co-ordinate event fundraising packs and other materials assist with writing press releases and articles oversee print and distribution in collaboration with marketing colleagues
  • Respond to enquiries from participants and fundraisers and provide and excellent supporter journey for those taking part
  • Manage excellent levels of communication with stakeholders and suppliers and work within budget constraints

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

  • Proven track record for supporting the delivery of event programmes and campaigns - from initial concept to implementation and review - and in particular, strong experience in marketing of mass participation events
  • Experienced in developing promotional materials
  • Experience of leading projects and budgeting
  • Demonstrable strong interpersonal skills and experience in a customer care setting
  • Experience of working with data entry, accurate record keeping, and running database reports
  • Demonstrable experience of being involved with charity work e.g. fundraising and/or volunteering
  • Ability to use a range of communication channels to build relationships including face to face and social media


Desirable

  • Experience of using a fundraising database for data entry, data manipulation and reporting
  • Experience of dealing with people who are bereaved or dealing with personal difficult health conditions
  • Experience of working on in-house events
  • Working knowledge of the basics for good fundraising practice eg Gift Aid, data protection
  • Working with volunteers
  • Marketing and communications experience


Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Further relevant training
  • Driving licence/access to vehicle


Desirable

  • Educated to degree level
  • Not-for-profit or fundraising training


Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage many different events simultaneously and manage priorities accordingly
  • Good problem solving, influencing and negotiating skills
  • Effectively establish and report against KPIs, which measure success, impact and effectiveness
  • Able to use IT systems including Microsoft Office


Desirable

  • Awareness of best fundraising practice in relation to event fundraising
  • Social media and e-communications capability
