We are recruiting High Intensity CBT trainees to join Croydon Talking Therapies. Postholders will spend three days a week in the service and over the other two days, they will undertake the PG Dip in CBT course at Royal Holloway University of London. There is an expectation from Royal Holloway and Croydon Talking Therapies that successful applicants will stay in their posts and complete the training which will last till early 2026.

We are a large IAPT service (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) and currently have over 100 staff. We provide a full range of NICE recommended step 2 and 3 interventions for depression and anxiety including CBT, IPT, Counselling, and EMDR. We are looking for enthusiastic and passionate team players, committed to working for our Croydon communities, offering patient-centred, responsive and high-quality psychological health and wellbeing services.

Main duties of the job

The postholders will join the Croydon Talking Therapies service to deliver high quality cognitive-behavioural therapy to clients with depression and / or anxiety.

Postholders will be expected to see clients in GP surgeries and outpatients clinics, as well as remotely. All staff are required to work one evening per week. Successful applicants can expect to join a highly valued and motivated IAPT workforce which consists of cognitive behavioural therapists, clinical / counselling / health psychologists, counsellors, PWPs, career coaches and our admin team.

Job description

Job responsibilities

This is a training role within the Improving Access To Psychological Therapies Programme (IAPT). The postholder will work within the IAPT service providing high intensity interventions whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role. This intensive training post will equip the postholder to provide a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) service to clients with a range of complex problems for which CBT is demonstrated to be clinically effective.

Qualifications

Essential

  • A recorded/registered qualification in one of the following at graduate level in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, arts therapy or within a psychological therapy OR Evidence of meeting the Knowledge Skills and Attitude (KSA) requirements of BABCP
