Band 6 Neonatal Unit Coordinator
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Band 6 Neonatal Nurse to join our Neonatal Unit at West Suffolk Hospital.
We are looking for full time or part time Band 6 Neonatal Nurses, who want to work with our with well established friendly neonatal team, to deliver the highest standards of neonatal care.
As a co-ordinator you will be responsible for supporting the Ward Manager and for utilising specialist skills to provide high standards of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualised care pathways and should expect to have minimal clinical commitment during the shift.
The Neonatal Unit at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust is a Level 1 Unit with 12 cots. The unit provides short term intensive care, high dependency care and special care for sick and preterm infants from 30 weeks gestation (multiples from 32 weeks) as well as managing a 6 bedded Transitional Care Unit in postnatal ward. We are committed to the provision of high quality evidence based practice to meet the needs of parents and babies incorporating family centred care. We are already Bliss Gold Charter accredited and working towards achieving Baby Friendly stage 2 accreditation.
Main duties of the job
Post holder is responsible for the day-to-day management of nursing care provision on the NNU. This role will include supporting other nurses, particularly during periods when additional workload impacts on bedside caring time, e.g. during the acute period of admission or the internal and external transfer of babies.
About us

We are a busy, friendly, rural NHS Trust providing high-quality care and compassion to more than a quarter of a million people across west Suffolk. We care for, treat and support people in hospital, at home and in various community settings.
The West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds provides acute and secondary care services (emergency department, maternity and neonatal services, day surgery unit, eye treatment centre, Macmillan unit and children's ward). It has 500+ beds and is a partner teaching hospital of the University of Cambridge.
Adult and paediatric community services, provided in collaboration with West Suffolk Alliance partners, include a range of nursing, therapy, specialist, and ongoing temporary care and rehabilitation, some at our Newmarket Community Hospital.
We do our utmost to achieve outstanding clinical outcomes for patients and our values of fairness, inclusivity, respect, safety and team work guide how we work and behave as a team.
With nearly 5,000 staff, from all over the world, we strive to make our organisation a great place to work. Whatever your role or ambition, we want to help you be the best you can be.
We promote a diverse and inclusive community where everyones voice counts and you can #BeKnown for whoever you are.
