We are recruiting for a Registered Nurse - Trauma and Orthopaedics, Planned Care who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

The role will provide you with a good mix of nursing skills to include discharge planning, wound management, pre and post operative care. You will be working with a very hard working multi disciplinary team providing evidence based care to a group of orthopaedic patients.

Main duties of the job
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care needs of patients from admission (or before) to discharge, with the involvement of patients and their relatives/carers.
To ensure a high standard of nursing care is performed at all times and assists in the review and regular update of these standard in accordance with the NMC code of professional conduct and trust polices
Participate within a team of nurse and support workers in providing continuity of patient care, patients physical, social and psychological needs are met
Participate in internal shift rotation in order to provide 24-hour patient care
Communicate effectively and work in partnership with patients, nursing collages, the Multidisciplinary Team and all other relevant personnel
Carry out clinical procedure and treatments in line with the patient's plan of care
Accompany patients to other environments or departments for investigation or treatment
Immediately identify and take appropriate action in relation to any significant change that may affect the patient's health and wellbeingRecognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations, utilise escalation strategies, such as SBAR and pathways
Contribute to the improvement of services
Maintain quality, encourage others to maintain quality and alert Senior Sister / Charge Nurse of any risks to qualityAssist with any ward/departmental audit initiatives
At all times act as the patient advocate
