We are looking to recruit motivated, innovative and enthusiastic Band 5 Nursesto join our Integrated Healthcare Service at HMP YOI Feltham. Feltham is effectively two separate establishments delivering healthcare services to young people in Feltham A (15-19 years) and young adults in Feltham B (18-25 years). These two separate cohorts have slightly different needs and we are looking for staff that understand their needs and work in line with 'Child First' principles. By joining our team, you will not only look after the healthcare needs of the young people/young adults we care for, but also have the opportunity to have a real impact on promoting health and well-being for this population.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be Registered Adult or Children's Nurse, working as part of an excellent primary care team, carrying out a range of clinical activities in a secure environment where the young person/young adult is put first.

The post holder will often be the first point of contact for the healthcare needs through initial assessment, screening and/or triage of young people/young adults in accordance with specific standard operating procedures. The successful candidate will assess, plan and implement care for patients within each care/treatment pathway in order to promote wellbeing, facilitating the use of evidence-based practice to ensure clinical care is both effective and appropriate to the young person/young adult.

The post holder will carry out general nursing duties, maintain contemporaneous records, support their colleagues and make a professional contribution to the development of an integrated healthcare service.

The post holder will also act as a preceptor/mentor according to experience.
