Team Lead Occupational Therapist - Older Adults
Full Time 37.5 hours
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Lead Occupational Therapist to join our in patient service at Lincoln County Hospital. The role will require a passion for working with people who have been admitted to hospital within our Older Adults inpatient wards. You will work alongside the physiotherapist Team Lead to jointly manage the integrated team.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will lead a developing and experienced clinical team of Occupational Therapy staff Bands 4-6 and will support the development of Therapy staff as part of the wider MDT to deliver evidence based interventions for people on the in patient ward areas. The successful candidate must be flexible, innovative & highly motivated. The role requires the appointed person to be proactive and adaptable to support the smooth and prompt transition of in- patient care to the individuals' place of discharge, taking into account their needs. The successful applicant will be well supported within the Occupational Therapy service and will be encouraged to develop the service. - Experience of working at Band 6 level or above, demonstrating the ability to work on own initiative.
- Experience of working within the speciality of older adults
- Evidence of participation in Clinical Governance and quality assurance activities, including audit & service development.
- Experience of supervising staff and students.

- Very good knowledge and awareness of OT practice within the clinical speciality of older adults. Evidence-informed, occupation-focused practitioner able to critically appraise existing and emerging evidence
- Team Leadership skills demonstrating ability to develop and maintain team cohesion, whilst supporting the work and direction of the occupational therapy department as a whole.
- Supportive of team-lead peers, site lead and trust lead occupational therapists and can demonstrate ability to develop and maintain interdisciplinary team working
