We have a fantastic opportunity for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist who is passionate about improving the lives of people, flexible, hardworking and innovative, to join our friendly therapy team as part of our rotation programme.This position would suit someone due to qualify, recently qualified or already in a post but looking for a new challenge.
Our values are: promoting independence through function and a truly home-first approach. We pride ourselves in consistently avoiding unnecessary admissions, supporting patients back to their own home as soon as possible and supporting patients to remain in their own homes engaging in what is meaningful to them. Our rotations will provide the opportunity to work in both inpatient and community settings.
If successful, you will be part of our established, integrated therapy service, working across all aspects of acute and community care. Delivery of a high quality service and development of our staff is a high priority. We have an established education programme and strong peer support throughout the Trust.
Main duties of the job
Rotations are for 6 months and our current rotations:
It is essential that applicants are a car driver and have access to a car on a daily basis for some rotations.

Support through Peer group meetings and robust supervision structures.

- Community rehabilitation and admission avoidance
- Acute medicine
- Rapid response therapy services in A& E, AMU and frail elderly.
- Trauma & Orthopaedics
- MacMillan Therapy Services
- Stroke and Neurology

Opportunities in this role:
- Completing assessments and treatment plans for patients with a variety of health conditions and backgrounds.
- Completing specialist Occupational Therapy assessments.
- To work in an integrated Therapy service that will further develop your skills and knowledge.
- Promoting discharge to assess by adopting a 'home first' mindset, and supporting the roll out of the 'discharge to assess' pathway
- Champion the role of Occupational Therapy within the department, trust and local area.
- Opportunity to be involved in supervision of students and develop own skills to become a practice educator.
- Access to training, supervision, competency frameworks and professional development groups.
