Passionate about rehabilitation?We are having an open day on 30th November 2024 at Westview Community Hospital, Plummer Lane, Tenterden. TN30 6TX for nursing roles in our Westview and Hawkhurst Community HospitalsWe have the opportunity for you to join our already established ward at Hawkhurst OR to be part of developing a new ward at Westview (Benenden East) in Tenterden!

The majority of our patients here require further support in becoming as independent as possible before going home and have beenadmitted to us either from being unwell at home or following a stay in an acute hospital.

We are looking for staff to support this exciting opportunity and be part of a multidisciplinary team, working closely together to benefitthe patient's onward journey. Full induction and training will be delivered to enhance any skills that you have in rehabilitating patients,recognising deteriorating patients, IV administration, end of life care and wound care, dependant on your qualifications.

We have daily MDT board rounds, safety huddles and use EPMA for medication administration.

Main duties of the job

Our community hospital nurses provide complex nursing care in an in-patient setting.

As a community hospital nurse, you'll:

assess the healthcare needs of patients on admission

monitor the quality of care they're receiving with us

be professionally accountable for its delivery.

Your patients could be any age, but they'll often be elderly, while others may have been recently discharged from acute hospital, be terminally ill or have physical disabilities.

As aBand 5 Nurseyou will work as part of a team to keep people safe and well in our hospitals. You will use your clinical judgement to support evidence-based care planning and make sure that people who use our services have a good experience.

Additional Working Pattern: Working a mix of long days, early and night shifts over a 7 day roster

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Healthcare Professional with relevant Professional body 1st Level Nurse/ NMC Degree in a health relevant subject or willingness to complete a degree


Desirable

  • Mentoring qualification equivalent


Experience

Essential

  • Experience of recent community/acute healthcare gained through education or work experience placement or previous employment


Knowledge

Essential

  • Awareness of professional issues and recent developments in the NHS Knowledge of up to date clinical practice


Skills & abilities

  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written) Ability to organise own work Ability to cope with change Ability to use own initiative
