Band 5 - Tenancy Sustainment Officer - 22.5 hours per week
Open to current B5 Tenancy Sustainment Officers working in MPFT
Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust has an opportunity for an enthusiastic and organised Tenancy Sustainment Officer to join our new Adult ADHD/ASD service.
You will have a critical role in providing specialist tenancy related support to vulnerable people with ADHD/ASD, who are at risk of becoming homeless. You will work with individuals with complex mental health needs and help them live independently and remain in their own home.

Main duties of the job
You will act as the main point of contact for tenants and landlords in order to answer any queries and troubleshoot any issues throughout the life of tenancies and also act as the conduit between MPFT Mental Health services and the local authorities.
You will assist in the delivery of a high standard of support to service users that have been identified as vulnerable and at risk of losing their home.
You will be responsible for working in partnership with agencies external to the Trust supporting service users to maintain their independence within their preferred place of residency in the independent and non-statutory sector.

- NVQ 4 Health & Social or equivalent qualification
- Demonstrate commitment to professional and personal development
- Evidence of/willing to undertake training relevant to the post
Experience
Essential
- Experience of working with people who have difficulty in engaging with services and have mental health needs
- Experience of working in community setting and making decisions autonomously
- Excellent communication skills and a willingness to promote service user involvement.
- Counselling skills, case management experience & the ability to work under pressure.
- An understanding and awareness of housing issues, the initiatives designed to tackle and prevent homelessness, and of government policy relating to housing need and homelessness
- Current B5 TSO working in MPFT
