This is an exciting opportunity to work in a growing and developing Hospital based Cancer Nurse Specialist Team at the regions Principal Treatment Centre for Cancer.

You will join an established team as a Band 6 Neuro-Oncology CNS, and in collaboration with others, further support and develop the existing CNS service to encompass patients with Neuro-oncology high-grade and low-grade brain tumors at all stages of care and treatment including follow up.

Main duties of the job

You will facilitate, empower and educate the families and the teams to enable holistic, expert and seamless care throughout their journey and intopalliative care planning and support the ongoing service development of the CNS model and core pathways.

You must have relevant experience, excellent teamwork and communication skills, be passionate about service development and improvement and dynamic in your thinking. Person Specification

NMC Registered Nurse Child

Essential

  • NMC Registered Nurse child
  • Degree Level qualification or equivalent experience
  • Qualification in teaching and/mentoring and assessing
  • Recognised post-registration qualification in Haematology/oncology nursing
  • Experienced band 5 - minimum 5 years experience
  • Willing to undertake advanced communication skills training
  • Demonstration of current expert clinical skills caring for children with cancer with a minimum of 5 years as a band 5
  • Experience in coordinating care and leadership within a clinical environment
  • Ability to lead practice
  • Excellent communication skills - Verbal and written
  • Ability to manage and prioritise own workload
  • Ability to work as an effective team member
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Excellent understanding of local and national service delivery for children
  • Evidence of commitment to educational initiatives to ensure the delivery of evidence based clinical practice and high quality care
