The post holder will assist the Director of Nursing, Quality & Patient Experience with the corporate agenda for Nursing and support the Clinical Care Group Service Director in leading the Clinical Care Group.

Main duties of the job

As a Nursing and Midwifery Council registrant, you will provide professional and strategic leadership to Nurses and Health Care Support Workers within the Clinical Care Group, enabling high quality patient centred services to be delivered to those who access services across the Health Board.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for a range of areas including quality, patient safety and implementation of Health Board agenda for continuous improvement. They will be key in contributing to the development of Nursing across the organisation, ensuring standards of practice are consistent.

You will have highly developed leadership and influencing skills with the ability to enthuse, motivate and involve individuals and teams, whilst demonstrating the organisation values and behaviours.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential

• Registered Nurse.
• Masters degree in healthcare or management or demonstrable ability to work at this level and/or equivalent senior management experience
• Evidence of continuous professional development to further postgraduate level.
• Extensive knowledge over a range of disciplines e.g. Clinical, research, HR, Finance, Governance, underpinned by specialist courses or equivalent experience.
• Extensive knowledge of relative legislation and associated codes of practice
• In depth professional specialist knowledge of a number of disciplines acquired through training and experience over a significant period

Essential

• Extensive post registration experience working in a multi-professional environment, a significant period of which must have been at a senior level managing staff and high-quality patient centred services.
• Evidence of implementing nursing strategy.
• Knowledge of recent government initiatives relating to NHS
• Ability to engage and fully involve senior staff in the redesign of patient pathways
• Ability to lead the redesign of services to ensure they are delivered to the highest standard and are cost effective
• Ability to be flexible and to look beyond existing structures, ways of working, boundaries and organisations to produce more effective and innovative service delivery and partnerships.
• Extensive experience of delivering demonstrably high-quality services and leading successful change in patient centred care delivery.
• Experience of delivery against challenging performance targets, and managing others to do so
• Experience of delivering high levels of productivity and efficiency
