We are looking for dedicated and passionate Band 5 Registered Nurses/ HCPC practitioner to work with our Pre- Operative Assessment Team at the Maidstone Hospital.

Are you used to liaising with a wide variety of members from the multi-disciplinary team and have a passion for improving the patient's surgical pathway?

Main duties of the job
Staff members in the Pre-assessment Unit play a pivotal role in delivering safe and efficient pre-operative care to the elective surgical patient. You will be working with the multi-disciplinary teams, including GP's, Surgical Consultants and Anaesthetists on a daily basis, providing effective clinical assessments to ensure our patients and their families/carers receive excellent preparation for elective surgical procedures.
As a member of the Pre-Operative Assessment Unit, you will play an important role in assessing patients for specialities including ENT, Orthopaedics, Urology, Gynae, Breast and Surgical procedures.
The Pre-operative assessment clinic has recently initiated a state of the art innovative digital preoperative assessment programme and our aim is provide all our patients with the highest standard of surgical care.

Once your pre-employment checks have been completed you will be contacted by Recruitment to arrange your start date which will be in line with one of our Corporate Inductions.
Following your Corporate Induction you will be expected to attend the Trusts 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics. The programme is full-time (please emailmtw-tr.professionalstandards@nhs.netif this is problematic) and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.
Please note that appointment to this post will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service Check atEnhanced Level. (Enhanced level now includes regulated checks against vulnerable adults and children)

- First level registered nurse OR professional registered with the HCPC such as Operating Department Practitioner, Paramedic, Physiotherapist etc
- Basic Life Support provider
- Mentorship / preceptorship course or equivalent
