An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Risk Manager, indicative of band 7 - subject to agenda for banding, to join our Office of Clinical Governance Team.

This is an exciting new post due to a recent restructure in our team to help the Risk Manager lead on the Trust's risk agenda.

The entire Clinical Governance team are very excited about this role within the team and look forward to welcoming a Deputy Risk Manager to join our team. Our team is known for being very supportive and welcoming and there is a genuine atmosphere of kindness and care between our staff. This is a key role to help us develop our services for the future and we are looking for an individual who is keen to work as part of our Team to expand, develop and support this specialty area.

We are looking for an applicant who is forward thinking and innovative, is flexible and adaptable with excellent communication and organisational skills but most importantly, have unlimited enthusiasm and sees that their role is part of something very special. This post requires someone who is strong in written and verbal communication, good IT skills along with excellent stakeholder management skills.

This is a full-time post, working 37.5 hours per week and a mixture of office and home working.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will support the Trust's Risk Manager in their programme of work. The post holder will be responsible for assisting the Risk Manager to audit and maintain the corporate risk registers, and the Trust Secretary in ensuring that strategic risks feed into the Board Assurance Framework (BAF). The post holder will work closely with corporate and clinical care groups to ensure a proactive approach to risk management.

Person Specification

Education, Qualifications and Training

Essential

  • oQualification at degree level in risk management, patient safety or other governance subject or equivalent experience
  • oTeaching, training or mentorship qualification


Desirable

  • oHold or working towards the IRM risk managers qualification or equivalent


Experience and Knowledge Required

Essential

  • oExperience of risk management gained from working in a large, complex organisation preferably within a healthcare setting.
  • oExperience of supporting services, departments and care groups in undertaking risk assessments, reviewing risk registers etc.
  • oExperience of DATIX risk module or similar risk management system
  • oDemonstrable track record of achievement in a relevant role
  • oExperience of managing databases to store complex information
  • oExperience of undertaking analysis of data, correlating multiple sources of data and producing informative reports.
  • oExperience of writing clear and concise reports, to inform policy and provide information and assurance.
  • oExperience of developing and delivering training packages using excellent presentation skills.
  • oExperience of monitoring and reviewing compliance with legislation, policy and guidance.


Desirable

  • oExperience in any area of Governance, including patient safety, clinical audit or effectiveness
