By working clinically as a member of the nursing team you will work in partnership with the Ward Manger to provide clinical, professional and managerial leadership for a ward-based team of qualified and non-qualified staff. The post holder will be required to deputize in the absence of the Ward Manager and ensure a positive patient experience through the delivery of high standards of patient care. o Leading clinical nursing practice within the clinical area. o Securing and assuring the highest standards of clinical care with the support of the Ward Manager and Head of Nursing. o The effective management of clinical and non-clinical risk reporting to the Manager within the Directorate Clinical Governance Framework.

Qualifications and training

  • Degree in Nursing or working towards a degree or equitant. Preparation of mentors or equivalent.

Clinical skills and experience

Essential

  • Venepuncture, Cannulation, ECG, Verification of Death, IV Drugs and ILS Communication skills. Facilitating Staff development and empowerment. Negotiation. The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English. English is essential for the post
