Working within a large and vibrant team of Audiologists, Clinical Scientists, Clinical Assistants and Administration staff. This post is responsible for leading, monitoring and developing the Vestibular Audiology service, including coordinating with Audiovestibular medicine (AVM) team. This involves undertaking vestibular assessment and rehabilitation with adult patients in Hampshire, working primarily at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth, with opportunities to work at both acute and community based sites in the surrounding area. This role will involve seeing other patient groups which may include paediatric assessment and adult rehabilitation and assisting with the training and support of our STP trainees. The post holder will have responsibility for direct line management of staff.

We are looking for an experienced Audiologist to lead our vestibular testing and rehabilitation service, and line manage a team of Audiologists involved in this service. The successful candidate will be able to fully utilise their experience in other areas of Audiology such as adult assessment and rehabilitation, or paediatric assessment and must be eligible for AHCS (RCCP) or HCPC registration. Opportunities are available in many areas of Audiology including complex adults, tinnitus management and paediatrics. Excellent clinical, communication and organisational skills are essential.

Essential
- STP or MSc in Clinical Audiological Science and Certificate of Audiological Competence, or BAAT or PTP or BSc in Audiology.
Desirable
- Clinical skills and management to appropriate standard of independent practice as supported by or working towards State Registration.
Experience
Essential
- Vestibular testing with adults.
- Vestibular rehabilitation.
- Adult hearing assessment and management.
Desirable
- Communication with multidisciplinary teams ensuring affective patient management.
- Staff management and leadership
- Service monitoring and development
- Training and supporting junior staff including trainees on registered courses.
Additional criteria
Essential
- Relevant practical knowledge and experience. Patient handling, counselling and all necessary skills involved in adult working.
- Experience of Vestibular testing including VNG, Vemps and vHIT.
- Experience of using all relevant diagnostic, rehabilitative and clinical instrumentation including the fitting and verification of hearing aids.
Desirable
- Ability to gather data, compile information and prepare reports.
- Ability to develop and maintain record keeping systems and procedures.
- Ability to have oversite of equipment, resources and monitoring of staff completing vestibular testing.
