Would you like to work in a highly motivated and friendly Maternity team covering Bath, North East Somerset and West Wiltshire? We are committed to providing high quality, woman-centred care, and have already implemented work to provide consistency of care for families.

Rated 'Outstanding' in our latest CQC review, our service consists of an acute and 2 standalone birth centres. We also have 2 community midwifery led units, a 24 hour Maternity Assessment Unit and are in the planning stages of an alongside midwifery unit at the RUH site. An opportunity has arisen for a forward thinking, motivated, woman centred, Band 7 midwife with leadership and managerial skills to lead our antenatal outpatient clinic. We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced midwife, who is able to role model, lead by example and provide first line managerial support.

The successful candidate will be part of a well-established Outpatient midwifery team, which consists of the Antenatal clinic and Midwife sonography service. Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategies to improve the health of women and children in line with the Public Health agenda. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of clinical care is achieved by efficient and effective use of resources, liaising with other agencies, organising, and ensuring supervision of practice, and teaching of staff and students.

The post holder will take an active part in implementing the recommendation of national reports such as the Three year delivery plan for maternity and neonatal services.

To collect, analyse and identify themes captured in feedback to improve quality and family experience furthermore produce reports and share themes and action plans

Person Specification

Qualifications and training

Essential

  • Registered midwife with NMC
  • Significant experience at band 6 or above.
  • Training in managing conduct, Health, sickness and performance, recruitment, appraisal


Desirable

  • Post-registration qualification preferably in speciality area, or in process
  • leadership qualification


Knowledge and expereince

Essential

  • Experience in service user feedback
  • Understanding of the principles and application of Clinical Governance.
  • birth options clinic experince and interest


Desirable

  • Experience of complaint response
  • Experience supporting women/birthing people choosing to birth outside of guidance
