Queen Elizabeth Emergency Department are excited to announce an exciting opportunity. We are looking to recruit newly qualified nurses and experienced nurses to join our friendly and talented team who strive to deliver high quality emergency care to patients. This role should appeal to any enthusiastic and motivated individual who would like to develop their career in a busy & dynamic nursing team in the Emergency Department

The post holder will be responsible for providing direct patient care to enhance the wellbeing of patients attending the Emergency Department The post holder will be expected to uphold the Chief Nursing Officers 6Cs of Nursing.

This is a demanding role that requires commitment and a positive attitude approach towards change. With emergency care ever changing and evolving this is an exciting opportunity to be involved in provide health care services to our patients whilst striving to deliver high standard of Nursing care in the department.

Main duties of the job

As a Band 5 Nurse you will be offered a comprehensive development package including a period of supernumerary, training and education and a Preceptorship programme.

You will take part in initial and secondary assessment of patients.

Treatment of minor/major illness and injury/trauma.

We have a team of ENP's, ACP's, and Practice Educators , supported by a diverse and innovative senior nursing team.

Qualifications

Essential

  • *Registered Adult Nurse on the NMC Register
  • *Evidence and ability to revalidate as required by the NMC


Experience

Essential

  • *Previous / recent experience or working in an acute secondary NHS care setting (can include student placements within the last 12 months )
  • *Evidence of achievements and career development in current post and of on-going professional development/ competence
  • *Experience of working on own and in a team in a health care environment delegating to others within a team / providing supervision to others
  • *Willingness to become a practice supervisor / assessor to or meets Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards for student supervision and assessment
  • *Understanding and knowledge of the NMC code of conduct
  • *Understanding of preceptorship and work based learning and assimilation of skills and knowledge
  • *Awareness of current relevant NHS policy context
  • *Understanding / experience of the principles of safeguarding and Mental Capacity
  • *Awareness of health and safety issues
