Opportunity has arisen for an individual who has up to date clinical experience to move into a role of staff development. To ensure that all pre-registration non-medical healthcare students experience a high quality practice/learning environment through the Trust.

1 x 30 hour Post available.

Main duties of the job

In collaboration with the professional development leads the post holder will facilitate the training and support of pre-registration students while on placement within the Trust

The post holder will contribute to the provision and support of Assessors and Supervisors and participate in the quality assurance processes both autonomously and as part of a team working in partnership across the HEIs.

The post holder will develop and facilitate educational opportunities for pre-registration students in line with the HEI curriculum.

In conjunction with the Professional Development Lead and Professional Development Nurse for Post-Registration the post holder will facilitate and support the transition programme for the students approaching graduation.

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

  • Proven extensive experience working within the clinical setting encompassing current specialist knowledge across a range of complex clinical skills/procedures.
  • In depth knowledge of all educational policies and procedures pertinent to student nurses.
  • Experience of teaching in both formal and informal settings.
  • Able to produce complex written and verbal reports.


Desirable

  • Trained Clinical Supervisor.
  • Completion of a leadership development programme.
  • Experience of curriculum development in line with education policy and assessment systems.


Qualifications & Education

Essential

  • Registered Practitioner educated to degree level


Desirable

  • Completed the mentorship/assessors programme
  • Evidence of post graduate study in education

  • Displays commitment to the education in practice.
  • Able to facilitate the development of clinical learning opportunities and programme for Student Nurses/AHP's.
