The posts will be primarily based in the services at the Ambrose King Centre in Whitechapel

Main duties of the job

The Senior Sexual Health Nurse post will provide sexual health and contraception care to service users.

Qualifications

Essential

• Registered Adult Nurse (Level 1)
• Educated to 1st degree level
• Current contraception and sexual health experience

Desirable

• Teaching Qualification
• Master's degree

Experience

Essential

• Experience of providing care and treatment to patients with sexual health and contraceptive needs
• General post registration experience and current integrated sexual health experience required
• Evidence of working with staff from different professional disciplines
• Evidence of utilising evidence-based practice.
• Evidence of supporting and taking part in Clinical Supervision
• Evidence of supporting successful change management
• Evidence of practice development
• Evidence of local resolution of complaints

Desirable

• Evidence of managing Human Resource issues.
• Evidence of experience in financial management
• Publication in a relevant field

Knowledge

Essential

• Demonstrates an understanding of relevant issues in sexual health and contraceptive services and the government sexual health agenda
• Able to discuss pertinent issues regarding higher level nursing practice
• Demonstrates an understanding of the concept of clinical and shared governance.
• Demonstrates an understanding of quality improvement strategies.
